Physical exercise is an important part of a healthy life. "Sparta high school offers six gym classes," states Jennifer Butzler, a physical education teacher. They are physical education 1, personal fitness, strength and speed training, team sports, individual sports, Lifetime sports.
Fitness testing is to show the progress of the students, explains Butzler. It includes a mile run, sit-up, push-ups and flexibility. This is important to live a long healthy life.
"People should work out at least once a day for a period of 30 to 60 minutes of vigorous activity," explains Butzler. This makes your heart strong and easier for it to work which means you live longer.
You may not like physical exercise but it's important. "It makes you a better worker, discipline, teaches you to do things you don't like but you still got to do them, makes you more proficient in your day to day life, and above all it makes you healthier and happier because your in shape and feel good." says Butzler
"There are many things you can do on your own to live a healthier life," reasoned Butzler. You can lift free weights, sit ups and push ups are great and cost nothing, you can use exercise tapes, run, walk, go hiking, bike and roller blade they are all ways to exercise at home and be in shape, feel good, and be happier.
So you see, gym class is important even if you don't like it just do it. You'll thank yourself for the hard work one day.
