Dr. Jon Jones gives speech about the better education for the young adults in Sparta High School.

"The US department of education is starting to use a better academic system." said Dr. Jon Jones. Jones has been recently hired in December 2010 for the occupation of direct improvement specialist.

In the press conference held January 21, 2010 at Sparta High School Jones talked all about the new education that will be used very soon to help all young adults with getting a higher education. The US government is supporting the school with all the new books and they are learning the "old school" way. They are not replacing any of their technology that they have right now because they don't feel the need for it. They think that you will learn just as much and just as well with books as you would computers. They are starting with the "no child left behind" in Sparta High School to improve on the grade rates, ACT, and WKCE scores. Many of the faculty is being replaced with new people appointed by the US department of education. They will be replaced on February 1 but they will get their pay and contracts will last until June 30.

"All students must increase their scores by 25 percent no matter what education they have." Jones stated. School will be in session from 7:45 am to 5:00 pm and there will be no excuses to be absent from school. Also no work permits will be allowed at the school anymore.

"If you are sick and not feeling well, we will have an infirmary in school for you." Jones continued. School will start on September 1 and go until July 1, unless the results of the students education does not increase. If the education does not increase they will have an 11 day break and start back up July 11 and follow through the normal calender. Classes with be extended and there will be more than one math, science, and reading class. No study halls will be provided for any of the students, there will be 10 minutes towards the end of the class to work on the work they received. There will be no open campus with five non local policemen. Grad groups and AP classes will still be allowed for the students and the ACT is required for juniors and seniors.

"There will be no more athletics, music, and after school activities provided to the students." Jones stated. If the scores increase they will consider reinstating the extra circulars.

"It's all about the education of the young adults, they are the future." Jones stated.
