Before the 2-week winter break the LMC got a lot of new books!

Some of the books they got is Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, The Freedom Writers Diary by the Freedom Writers, Behind the Pulse Series by Robin Wassermann.

Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold is about a 14 year old girl name Susie who was murder and now is in Heaven. She realizes that heaven is not what its cracked up to be. During the time shes in heaven she watch's her family (parnets,little bother and little sister) struggle and try to fine her killer even if it seems more unlikely.

The Behind the Pulse Series is about this girl name Lia Kahn who was hurt in a car accident. The doctors redo her body. Her old body gone and now she was downloaded into a new body that looks human. Will she ever get back to her normal life? Or will she become a new person. Will her family, friends and boyfriend ever expect her new life? Or will they not expect her for who she is and treat her like a different person a outcast ? Read it and find out?

The Freedom Writers by Erin Gruwell and the Freedoms. Freedom Writers is a true story about a Teacher Erin Gruwell who teaches students who are in gangs and racial groups about the holocaust. They learned that they really are all the same and people way back then went through the same thing and even worse. The Students through Freshman-Senior year write in a notebook called Diary and tell what they go through everyday. They also have Miep Gies visit (Who Knew Anne Frank)and other holocaust survivors to talk to the students. In the end the year the students type there diaries.
