Greet And Meet New LMC Director

Kristen Keller is new to the Sparta School District this year. She is currently hired part time, but definitely interested in a full time position if the opportunity arises. “I absolutely love it here!” she said.

Keller grew up in La Crosse and attended Logan high school, after graduation she attended UW- Eau Claire, interning in two high schools as an LMC Assistant, while attaining certification in regular teaching for grades 1-9. After she graduated from Eau Claire, she moved back to La Crosse, got engaged, and applied to Sparta Schools.

Keller is replacing Susan Quale, who was transferred to SouthSide Elementary School. Keller and Robin Reed are both working in library together this year, bettering it, and making the library feel more comfortable and "grown up."

A funny moment: The night before teacher orientation, Keller was wiping the paws of her yellow lab, when it head butted her in the face. Her bottom lip was bleeding and began to swell. The next morning her lips were still swollen and she could barely talk. This was the same morning Keller had to go to a teacher orientation, she met with superintendents and had her photograph taken. One of the superintendent jokingly called her Angelina Jolie, and that was how she started herself into the Sparta school district.
